MIA

I feel like nobody reads my blog... haha, anyway, for those who does- I am so so soooo sorry for being MIA for the past 2 months. I've been busy packing for the new house so I haven't had time to do reviews and whatnot, but I will definitely do a bunch load of posts once I've settled into my new home. The most anticipated posts that I've been wanting to do are:

1) What's in my bag?
2) Make-up storage.

Reasons being? I LOVE WATCHING OTHER PEOPLE'S VIDEOS ON THOSE TWO TOPICS!! :D Anyway, this was just a quick update over my piles of mess. Videos to come soon. See ya !

Review: Anastasia Brow Enhancing Serum

The Anastasia Brow Enhancing Serum ($36) claims that "it is clinically proven to stimulate the hair follicle in as quickly as 4-6 weeks." Many beauty bloggers have been raving about this so I decided to give it a try- well, I actually tried it well over half a year ago but didn't decide to review it til now, which may be a good thing.

For $36 USD, you can slowly watch your eyebrows grow back to before you ever tweezed it X amount of years ago, just apply it twice, daily- once in the morning after cleansing, and once in the evening. This lipgloss-sized tube of serum lasted me about 4 weeks, and I've seen hairs grow on spots I haven't seen hair on in YEARS. This stuff is really amazing and it lives up to all it's raves.

However, just the four weeks alone was not enough for my brows to grow back to it's full potential thickness, which is kind of a concern; considering the fact that I don't want to spend another $36 to see the remaining results. To be honest, one tube was enough for me. It left my brows in that awkward growing state, but it wasn't bad. I really just went back to doing touch-up tweezes now and then just to redefine the shape.

Overall, this serum can do wonders for those who have over-plucked brows and wish to grow and reshape them, or want broader, stronger looking eyebrows.

Chasing my childhood, one package at a time... (PART I)

Who remembers LipSmackers and Bonnebell? I DO!! :D

So this past weekend, I finally decided to do my mass order of Bonnebell lip products because I just couldn't wait any longer! I know I currently have no space to add any more stuff to my exploding closet and makeup collection, but I've waited too long. And today, my package arrived! I believe that every girl out there must have had at least ONE LipSmacker in their lifetime, and a good percentage of us probably haven't touched one since age 9. I don't know about you girls, but I love, love, LOVE Bonnebell. I don't care how "childish" I'll look when I'm seen at the club or at the bar with a LipSmacker or Bonnebell gloss, I LOVE IT! Enough of me blabbing, here are the goods! =]

I know, you've probably noticed that I didn't get THE LipSmacker. To be honest, I did grow out of my LipSmacker phase LOL. My first one was this shimmery blue rasberry one, and yes, it really was blue. However, I still love Bonnebell. :]

Mini Hauls: Sephora and NYX

Hello all! Last week, I made several impulse purchases via the web and in-store. The more notable ones are going to be mentioned today because Sephora had an awesome Stila sale and I was also tempted to splurge at the variety shop near my work place while I was working over the weekend. Here are pictures of two of my mini hauls [which will begin my spam posts of future purchases- and also, my make-up collection and organization once I move into my new house], and I still owe my only *:[* follower, Julianne @ Bathroom Dancer some BB cream reviews. I am so sorry dear, I've been too busy lately :[ however, Phyllis at Makeupforlife does have some great reviews and recommendations on several BB creams, so please do check that out while I search for some time to do a review. Now, to the pictures!

NYX Round Lipstick + Sephora Lip Peel Reviews

Good evening everyone!

I've just picked up several NYX Round Lipsticks from the local mom n' pop shop the other day so I thought I'd write a review on it. First, here are some pictures and swatches with and without flash [I apologize for the quality off of my HTC Fuze phone camera- college student, enough said].

[left to right] Harmonica, Orange Soda, Honey, Baby Pink, Summer Love

The product itself glides on extremely smooth, almost TOO smooth. It looks pretty right after your application, but the moment you start doing that *smacking* thing with your lips, you will automatically see the line/border of where your top and bottom lips last made contact- meaning the product runs quite easily.

As for the color, I anticipate to say that I'm rather disappointed. The product is definitely NOT true-to-color. Harmonica and Baby Pink both have a frosty/shimmer finish, while Orange Soda, Honey, and Summer Love possess a creme finish. All colors go on sheer, which is not a quality I approve of in my lipsticks. Though the packaging is thoroughly cute, I cannot say that I am happy with my purchase due to the color pay-off.

At the least, this lipstick doesn't carry that irritating wax-y scent that most drugstore branded lipsticks carry [it has a subtle, floral scent]. On top of that, I only paid $2 per lipstick [regularly $4]! Therefore, I am satisfied. Though I regret not being able to snatch one in Strawberry Milk [a favorite of Janice's at ChaiGyaru], I was sooo looking forward to trying it too!

Onto the next topic, my Sephora Lip Peel [purchased in December 2009, no longer available]. This little tube of [lip mask?] does little to remove dead skin off my lips. It does have a refreshing and tingly feeling when I apply it to my lips, though. The purpose of this product was to imitate the results of an exfoliate for lips, with an easy application- like a gloss.

The disappointment? It only does HALF of what it's said to do. It only peels off. I don't feel like anything comes off with it when I do so, either. I believe I've had better luck exfoliating my lips with a mass amount of Chapstick and a paper towel [this does wonders in the Winter]! The only good thing about this little baby is that it's awfully fun to just play around with. I can apply and re-apply it onto my lips and keep peeling it off to keep myself entertained for a night. Sounds childish? Possibly, but you ladies act like you've never obsessively applied anything to yourself before [i.e. Chapstick, moisturizer, toners, etc].

First Post

It is awfully cold today.

Did everyone have a nice 4th of July? Fun stuff yesterday; the Mister and I went to a barbaque in the afternoon, then when night fell, we drove around the Bay in search of somewhere secluded to set off a box-full of fireworks! It took over 2 hours of deciding/driving around [about 6 cars were coming along] and 3+ attempts to find the perfectly dark spot away from traffic, and obviously away from [authorities]. Sadly, I did not take any pictures of the wonderful sights but I will post some if any of the attenders happens to have uploaded them onto Facebook later on. After the show, the entire crew completely raided In-n-Out by Serramonte at around 1am. Nothing ends a perfect day like an animal-style cheeseburger and animal-style fries with the love, YUM!

On another note...

My birthday just flew by almost two weeks ago and the Mister just dropped off this little baby last week!

[got too excited]

*gasp*

-close up without flash-

First piece of jewelry the Mister has ever given to me. I love it oh-so-much! Not even for the fact that it's Tiffany, but the fact that something shiny from the significant other means the world to me. It's definitely something I can take with me no matter where I am or what I'm doing. Stereotypical girl? Probably. Madly sentimental? Definitely.

I will soon come up with a product review or tutorial of some sort [beauty related], so stay tuned and welcome to my blog! =]
